Transport

Getting to appointments, social catch-ups, and the places that matter to you. Not just a lift, but company for the trip and help navigating when you get there.

What This Looks Like

Transport is about access. When getting from A to B is hard, everything else gets harder too. Missed appointments, cancelled plans, staying home when you wanted to go out.

Your support worker picks you up, drives or travels with you, and helps you navigate wherever you are going. For medical appointments, they can come in with you if you want. For social stuff, they are company, not just a driver.

We also help people learn to use public transport independently. Practising routes, understanding timetables, building confidence one trip at a time.

What We Cover

Getting you where you need to be, with the right support along the way.

  1. Medical & Specialist Appointments

Reliable transport to GPs, specialists, therapists, and hospital appointments. Your worker can wait or come in with you.

    In Practice

"Appointment's at 2:30 and your questions are on your phone. We'll get there with time to spare. I can wait outside or come in with you, whatever works best today."

  2. Shopping & Errands

Transport to shops, banks, pharmacies, and wherever life needs you to be. Help carrying bags and navigating busy places.

    In Practice

"Wednesday arvo, Northland run. We'll start with the quiet end and work our way through the list. If it gets busy we can always grab a coffee and loop back. No rush."

  3. Education & Work Travel

Regular transport to TAFE, uni, work experience, or your job. Consistent timing so your attendance stays reliable.

    In Practice

"7:28 and you're at the door, bag packed. Your supervisor mentioned how consistent the mornings have been. The routine is working really well."

  4. Social & Community Outings

Getting to friends, family, events, and community activities. The trip is part of the experience, not just logistics.

    In Practice

"Your mate just texted. Catan's set up. Fifteen minutes and we're there. Good playlist for the drive or do you want to pick the music today?"

  5. Public Transport Training

Learning to catch trains, buses, and trams independently. We practise routes with you until you are confident doing it solo.

    In Practice

"Platform 2, Flinders Street, seventeen minutes. You checked the app, tapped on, picked your spot on the platform. The whole thing is feeling natural. It's a good route."

  6. Recreation & Day Trips

Getting to sport, hobbies, classes, and day trips. Your interests should not be limited by how you get there.

    In Practice

"Tuesday, Thursday, boxing. You've been talking about the jab-cross combo the whole drive. Your coach mentioned the footwork's coming along. Want to warm up out here or head straight in?"

NDIS & fee-for-service

Cost, Eligibility & Getting Started

The practical details on funding and how to get a worker matched to you.

What It Costs

Transport is funded through your NDIS plan. Pricing follows the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits, and the amount depends on the type of support and whether it happens on a weekday, evening, or weekend.

If you do not have NDIS funding, transport is available fee-for-service. Cost is always confirmed in writing before support starts.

Am I Eligible?

Transport is funded through the Transport category in your NDIS plan, separate from Core Supports. If your plan includes Transport funding, you can use it for this support.

A support coordinator can help you check. It is also available fee-for-service without a plan.
